Koko käyttöönotto vie yleensä alle puoli tuntia, eikä siihen tarvita reitittimen asetuksia eikä erillistä sovellusta.

Setup usually takes under half an hour. No router settings, no separate app.

  1. Ostat laitteet itse

    You buy the hardware

    Julkaisemme listan laitteista, jotka on testattu. Ostat ne suomalaisesta verkkokaupasta, ja ne maksavat noin 150–360 € sen mukaan, valitsetko Raspberry Pi:n vai käytetyn mini-PC:n. Emme myy laitteita itse, joten laitteet ovat sinun ensimmäisestä päivästä alkaen.

    We publish a list of hardware we have actually tested. You buy it from a Finnish retailer for roughly €150–360, depending on whether you pick a Raspberry Pi or a refurbished mini PC. We do not sell hardware, so it is yours from day one.

  2. Asennat valmiin levykuvan

    You write one file to the disk

    Saat meiltä valmiin asennustiedoston ja kertakäyttöisen liittymiskoodin. Kirjoitat tiedoston levylle Raspberry Pi Imager -ohjelmalla, kytket laitteen verkkoon ja virtaan. Siinä kaikki tekninen osuus.

    We send you a ready-made image and a single-use enrolment code. You write it to the disk with Raspberry Pi Imager, then plug in network and power. That is the entire technical part.

  3. Laite ottaa meihin yhteyttä

    The appliance calls us

    Laite ilmoittautuu itse ja asentuu käyttökuntoon. Saat sähköpostiisi linkin, tunnistaudut pääsyavaimella ja lisäät ensimmäisen laitteen ohjatusti.

    It enrols itself and installs everything it needs. You get a link by email, sign in with a passkey, and add your first device with a guide.

    Remote access on your own address

    Pääset kotisi järjestelmään mistä tahansa omalla verkko-osoitteella. Kirjautuminen tapahtuu pääsyavaimella (passkey), eli salasanaa ei tarvitse muistaa eikä keksiä.

    Reach your home from anywhere on your own web address. You sign in with a passkey, so there is no password to invent or remember.

    Backups, and restores that are tested

    Asetukset, automaatiot ja Zigbee-verkon tiedot varmuuskopioidaan joka yö. Palautus testataan automaattisesti säännöllisin väliajoin, koska testaamaton varmuuskopio on pelkkä oletus.

    Settings, automations and the Zigbee network keys are backed up nightly. The restore is tested automatically on a schedule, because a backup nobody has restored is an assumption, not a backup.

    Managed updates, with a way back

    Ennen jokaista päivitystä otetaan tilannevedos. Päivityksen jälkeen järjestelmä tarkistetaan automaattisesti, ja jos jokin ei toimi, laite palautetaan edelliseen toimivaan versioon, ilman että sinun tarvitsee huomata mitään.

    A snapshot is taken before every update. Afterwards the system is checked automatically, and if something is wrong the appliance is rolled back to the last working version — usually before you notice.

The house does not depend on a cloud

Kaikki, mikä ohjaa laitteita, tehdään kotonasi. Jos yhteys katkeaa, menetät etäyhteyden ja tilastot – et valoja, kytkimiä etkä ajastuksia. Tämä on koko palvelun perusratkaisu, ei lisäominaisuus.

Everything that controls a device happens in your home. Lose the connection and you lose remote access and statistics — not your lights, switches or schedules. This is the foundation of the service, not a feature added on top.

Data is kept in Finland

Varmuuskopiot ja pitkän aikavälin mittaustiedot säilytetään Suomessa, ja myös varakopio pysyy EU:n sisällä. Selainliikenne kulkee Cloudflaren kautta, joten emme väitä, että tiedot eivät koskaan poistu Suomesta. Kerromme mieluummin tarkasti kuin kauniisti.

Backups and long-term measurements are stored in Finland, and the secondary copy stays inside the EU. Browser traffic passes through Cloudflare, so we will not claim your data never leaves Finland. We would rather be precise than flattering.

Emme pidä pysyvää avainta kotisi laitteeseen. Yhteys avataan vain sinun luvallasi, se on voimassa rajatun ajan (oletuksena 60 minuuttia) ja jokainen istunto kirjautuu lokiin, jonka luet itse.

We hold no standing key to your appliance. A session opens only with your permission, expires on its own (60 minutes by default), and every one is written to a log that you read.

The hardware is yours because you bought it. If you stop, you take your data in an open format and keep a working system without us. We remove our own access and accounts from the appliance.

Loads move to the cheapest hours

Lämminvesivaraaja, auton lataus ja lämpöpumppu ovat isoja kuormia, joilla ei useimmiten ole väliä, mihin kellonaikaan ne käyvät. Valmiit automaatiot siirtävät ne vuorokauden halvimpiin tunteihin ja katkaisevat kalleimmilta.

A water heater, a car charger and a heat pump are large loads, and mostly it does not matter what time of day they run. The automations that ship with the service move them into the cheapest hours of the day, and cut them during the most expensive ones.

    Cheapest hours, scattered or in one block

    Lämminvesivaraajalle riittävät vuorokauden neljä halvinta tuntia, olivatpa ne missä tahansa. Auton lataus tai lämpöpumppu haluaa mieluummin yhtenäisen jakson, eikä käynnistelyä puolen tunnin välein. Molemmat ovat sama automaatio eri asetuksilla.

    A water heater is happy with the four cheapest hours of the day, wherever they fall. A car charger or a heat pump would rather have one continuous block than be switched on and off all evening. Both are the same automation with a different setting.

    A time window, when any hour will not do

    Auton voi rajata latautumaan vain klo 22–08, vaikka vuorokauden halvimmat tunnit osuisivat keskipäivään. Halvimmat tunnit etsitään silloin ikkunan sisältä.

    You can restrict the car to charging between 22:00 and 08:00 even when the cheapest hours of the day fall at noon. The cheapest hours are then chosen from inside that window.

    An energy view with the real price

    Sähkön kokonaishinta ei ole pelkkä pörssihinta: siirto, myyjän marginaali ja arvonlisävero tulevat päälle. Energianäkymä laskee eurot kokonaishinnalla, joten luku vastaa laskua eikä uutisotsikkoa. Kulutuksen näkee tunneittain, päivittäin, kuukausittain ja vuosittain.

    The total price of electricity is not the spot price alone: transfer, the seller's margin and VAT come on top. The energy view calculates in euros using the total, so the number matches your bill rather than a headline. Consumption is shown by hour, day, month and year.

    You can see what the automation is about to do

    Jokaisesta ohjauksesta on oma tilatietonsa: mitkä tunnit on valittu, mihin hintaan ja milloin seuraava jakso alkaa. Automaatio ei ole musta laatikko, jonka toimintaa arvaillaan jälkikäteen.

    Every schedule has its own status: which hours were chosen, at what price, and when the next block starts. The automation is not a black box whose behaviour you infer afterwards.

The saving depends on your loads. With no large shiftable loads there is nothing to shift. But the spread within a single day is often threefold, so moving a water heater and a car is usually what pays for the service.

Miksi Raspberry Pi on silti suositus? Ei hinnan takia, vaan asennuksen. Raspberry Pi Imager ja yksi tiedosto on jotain, minkä tekee kuka tahansa; mini-PC:hen pitää ensin asentaa käyttöjärjestelmä. Mini-PC on parempaa rautaa halvemmalla, Raspberry Pi on helpompi ottaa käyttöön. Kerromme mieluummin eron kuin piilotamme sen.

So why is the Pi still the recommendation? Not price — installation. Raspberry Pi Imager plus one file is something anyone can do; a mini PC needs an operating system installed first. A mini PC is better hardware for less money, a Pi is easier to set up. We would rather state the difference than hide it.

Mini-PC:tä ei voi luvata mallikohtaisesti. Käytettyjen koneiden valikoima vaihtuu viikoittain, joten emme voi nimetä yhtä testattua mallia. Kerromme vaatimukset, ja asennusohjelma tarkistaa ne. Tuki mini-PC:lle on parhaan yrityksen mukaista, ei samalla tavalla testattua kuin Raspberry Pi.

A mini PC cannot be promised by model. Refurbished stock changes week to week, so we cannot name one tested machine. We state the requirements instead, and the installer checks them. Support for a mini PC is best-effort rather than tested the way a Pi is.

Zigbee-sovitin saa olla myös verkkoliitäntäinen. USB-tikku on halvempi, mutta verkkosovittimen voi sijoittaa sinne, missä kuuluvuus on paras, eikä sen kanssa ole tekemistä USB-jatkojohdon, USB3-portin häiriöiden tai huonon kaapelin kanssa — eli niiden syiden, joista suurin osa Zigbee-ongelmista johtuu. Jatkojohtoa tarvitaan vain USB-tikulle.

The Zigbee adapter can be network-attached. A USB stick is cheaper, but a network adapter can be placed where the radio coverage is best, and it has nothing to do with extension cables, USB3 interference or a marginal lead — which is where most Zigbee trouble comes from. The extension cable is only needed for a USB stick.

Emme tue näitä: muistikortille tehty asennus, alle 8 Gt muistia, Raspberry Pi 3, Pi Zero ja 32-bittinen käyttöjärjestelmä. Asennusohjelma kieltäytyy näistä ja kertoo, miksi. Muistikortti hajoaa tässä käytössä usein jo vuoden tai kahden kuluessa, ja se on yleisin syy siihen, että kotiautomaatio lakkaa toimimasta.

We do not support: installs on a memory card, less than 8 GB of memory, the Raspberry Pi 3, the Pi Zero, or a 32-bit operating system. The installer refuses these and says why. Memory cards in this role often wear out within a year or two, and that is the most common reason a home automation system stops working.

Voit käyttää myös konetta, joka sinulla jo on. Kannettava on paras: se kuluttaa jouten 10–20 wattia ja akku toimii varavirtana sähkökatkossa. Vanha pöytäkone tai pelikone kuluttaa helposti 70 wattia, mikä on noin 570 kilowattituntia ja luokkaa 90 euroa vuodessa — eli enemmän kuin palvelu maksaa. Sähkölaskua pienentävä palvelu ei saa pyöriä koneella, joka syö säästön. Kiekkolevyllä varustettuun koneeseen asennusohjelma ei asennu lainkaan.

You can also use a machine you already own. A laptop is the best reuse: it idles at 10–20 watts and its battery rides out a short power cut. An old desktop or gaming PC easily idles at 70 watts — roughly 570 kilowatt-hours, on the order of €90 a year, which is more than the service costs. A service that lowers your electricity bill has no business running on hardware that eats the saving. On a machine with a spinning disk, the installer refuses outright.

Warranty sits with the seller. Because you buy the hardware yourself, we are not the seller. A failed power supply or disk is handled with the shop you bought it from. We will help identify the fault, but we cannot replace the part for you.

  • Palvelu ei sovi turvallisuuskriittiseen käyttöön. Palvelua ei saa käyttää palohälytykseen, murtohälytykseen eikä terveydentilan valvontaan. Niihin tarvitaan siihen tarkoitukseen hyväksytty laite. Not for life-safety use. This service must not be used for fire alarms, intruder alarms or medical monitoring. Those need equipment certified for the purpose.
  • Emme lupaa käytettävyysprosenttia. Emme myy palvelutasosopimusta, koska emme voi luvata sellaista, jota emme voi pitää. Sen sijaan kerromme, mitä tapahtuu, kun jokin menee rikki. No uptime percentage. We do not sell a service level agreement, because we will not promise what we cannot keep. Instead we tell you what happens when something breaks.
  • Palvelua pyörittää yksi ihminen. Tuki vastaa arkisin Suomen aikaa, suomeksi tai englanniksi. Emme lupaa ympärivuorokautista päivystystä, koska sellaista ei ole. One person runs this. Support answers on weekdays, Finnish time, in Finnish or English. There is no 24/7 on-call rota, because there is no rota.
  • Emme lupaa puheavustimia. Alexa ja Google Assistant eivät kuulu palveluun. No voice assistants. Alexa and Google Assistant are not part of the service.
  • Emme pidä varalaitteita hyllyssä. Jos laite hajoaa, tietojen palautus kestää noin puoli tuntia, mutta uuden laitteen hankkiminen kaupasta kestää yleensä 1–5 päivää. No spare hardware on a shelf. If the appliance dies, restoring your data takes about half an hour — but getting a replacement from a shop usually takes 1–5 days.
  • Emme kasva loputtomiin. Otamme rajallisen määrän asiakkaita ja pidämme sen jälkeen jonotuslistaa. Se on suunnitelma, ei häiriö. We do not scale forever. We take a limited number of customers and keep a waiting list after that. That is the plan, not a malfunction.

Valot, kytkimet, anturit ja automaatiot toimivat kuten ennenkin, koska ne pyörivät kotona olevalla laitteella. Etäyhteys, tilastot ja varmuuskopiointi palaavat itsestään, kun yhteys palaa.

Lights, switches, sensors and automations carry on as before, because they run on the appliance in your home. Remote access, statistics and backups resume by themselves when the connection returns.

Your home's local address is shown on your own page, and we email it to you at setup. It gets you in even while the internet is out.

Automaatiot ja lähihistoria ovat kotisi laitteessa. Varmuuskopiot ja pitkän aikavälin mittaustiedot säilytetään Suomessa, ja myös varakopio pidetään EU:n sisällä.

Automations and recent history live on the appliance in your home. Backups and long-term measurements are stored in Finland, and the secondary copy stays inside the EU.

Selainliikenne kulkee Cloudflaren verkon kautta, joten emme väitä, että tiedot eivät koskaan poistu Suomesta. Cloudflare mainitaan tietosuojaselosteessa alihankkijana.

Browser traffic passes through Cloudflare's network, so we will not claim your data never leaves Finland. Cloudflare is named as a processor in the privacy policy.

Emme näe, ellet avaa yhteyttä. Tukiyhteys vaatii kolme erillistä asiaa: sinun antamasi luvan, rajatun aikaikkunan ja lyhytikäisen varmenteen. Yksikään niistä ei riitä yksinään.

Not unless you open a session. Support access needs three separate things: your permission, a bounded time window, and a short-lived certificate. None of them is enough on its own.

Jokainen istunto kirjataan lokiin, jonka näet omalta sivultasi. Sanotaan tämä suoraan: tukiyhteys tarkoittaa pääkäyttäjän oikeuksia laitteeseen, eli sen aikana on teknisesti mahdollista myös nollata sinun oma salasanasi. Se on pääkäyttäjän oikeuksien väistämätön seuraus, ei erikseen otettu valta.

Every session is written to a log you can read on your own page. To say it plainly: support access means administrator rights on the appliance, so during a session it is technically possible to reset your own password too. That is an unavoidable consequence of administrator rights, not a power we took separately.

Zigbee-laitteet, Matter- ja Thread-laitteet sekä ESPHome-laitteet. Käytännössä valtaosa tavallisista lampuista, kytkimistä, antureista ja termostaateista.

Palvelu perustuu Home Assistantiin, joka on avoimen lähdekoodin ohjelmisto. Jos jokin laite toimii sen kanssa, se toimii todennäköisesti myös meillä. Emme ole sidoksissa Home Assistant -projektiin.

The service is built on Home Assistant, which is open source. If a device works with that, it will most likely work here. We are not affiliated with the Home Assistant project.

Entä jos laite hajoaa?What if the appliance breaks?

Ostat uuden laitteen kaupasta, kirjoitat saman asennustiedoston levylle ja syötät koodin. Varmuuskopiot palautetaan noin puolessa tunnissa.

You buy a new one, write the same image to the disk and enter your code. Backups are restored in about half an hour.

Zigbee-laitteita ei tarvitse parittaa uudelleen, koska Zigbee-verkon avaintiedot ovat varmuuskopiossa. Pisin osuus on uuden laitteen odottaminen, eli yleensä 1–5 päivää. Jos katkokset ovat sinulle hankalia, suosittelemme pitämään toista levyä varalla jo valmiiksi.

Zigbee devices do not need pairing again, because the network keys are in the backup. The long part is waiting for replacement hardware, usually 1–5 days. If downtime is awkward for you, keep a spare disk ready in advance.

Voinko lopettaa milloin tahansa?Can I stop whenever I want?

Voit. Laitteet ovat sinun, ja saat tiedot mukaasi avoimessa muodossa. Jätämme jälkeemme toimivan järjestelmän, jota voit käyttää itse tai antaa jonkun muun hoidettavaksi.
